We are delighted to announce the opening of yet another Galaxyworld - this time in the new Carlton Centre in the heart of Johannesburg. Situated on Main street in the
bustling metropolis, Galaxyworld staff were surprised when the new venue caused minor traffic jams in the first few days of trading.
Family entertainment includes a wide variety of the latest machines as well as the ever-popular soccer tables.
For the over-18's, an elegant bar serving traditional food provides a trendy yet relaxed atmosphere. Pool tables and TV's attract a sports-loving crowd.

Launch of Starsky & Hutch - Rosebank Galaxyworld

 Ster Kinekor Launched The movie Starsky & Hutch at galaxy World 0n the 18th April 2004. The entire venue was hired out and 550 guests played high tech
games, bowled, played pool and had drinks before viewing the movie.
The catering, supplied by Einstien Energy, was done in an American theme - hamburgers, hotdogs, pumpkin fritters etc. Galaxy World staff were dressed in Starsky & Hutch
t-shirts.
Also attending - vanessa carrera, 5fm Dj's and Jeremy Mansfield.
The launch was a huge success and hopefully the beginning of a strong relationship between ster kinekor and Galaxy World

Guinness Book of World Records - bowling record broken at Galaxyworld!

 During the CANSA Bowlathon, an event sponsored by various companies, Christian Hofer broke the World Record for Consecutive Hours of Bowling by 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Chris, aged 53, bowled for 55 hours - being allowed one 15-minute break every eight hours, his only other rest coming between shots as he waited for his ball to return.

 Our second tenants function was held at The Bar@ Galaxy World and was attended by aprox. 110 guests from the Zone, The Mall, Mutual Square
and The Firs.
This time the theme was Halloween with a Miller's promotion.

Develomental Programme - "Doxa-Huis" Children.

 For the past 15 months, a developmental programme aimed at bringing sport
into the lives of street children has been running at Galaxyworld, Pretoria.
Every Tuesday some 28 children from Doxa-huis, a shelter for street children in Pretoria, are brought by bus to Galaxyworld to bowl.
This programme is
a joint venture between Galaxyworld
and Menlyn Park Shopping Centre. Thanks to Colleen Oberholzer, President of the Gauteng-North 10 Pin Bowling Club, these youngsters even represented their province in Cape Town in a national competition, receiving their
developmental colours. This year, Sello Baloyi has been chosen to play for the senior inter-provincials (scratch B, Gauteng North). |

Reach for a Dream Function.

 "Helping children believe in the power of their
dreams" is the objective of the Foundation and it has been successful in giving hope and encouragement to more than 4 200 children (of all income groups, race or creed between the ages of 3 and 18 years) in their fight against
life-threatening illnesses.
Galaxyworld in Pretoria and Rosebank are proud to be associated with the Reach for a Dream Foundation. We have hosted bowling for the children on a number of occasions, sponsoring cold drinks and food.

 Tenants from local shopping centres, The Zone, Rosebank Mall and The Firs, were invited for an evening of snacks, pool, bar promotions and
socialising.
75 people attended, the theme for the evening was Hawaiian.
Definitely an occasion to be repeated!

Galaxyworld backs a Winner!

 Galaxyworld director, Wolf Seitz, and his crew achieved the seemingly impossible in winning this 3 500 mile event across the South Atlantic on handicap
in a chartered 42΄ mono-hull yacht, Baleka. Their feat had seasoned coastal sailors scratching their sun-burnt scalps in disbelief. Neither Wolf, his co-skipper Alex Schőn, nor the remaining four crew members had raced on the high seas
before this event...

 Bowling is a wonderful recreational activity for the disabled, and the residents of "Ons Huis" bowl on a weekly basis at
Galaxyworld, Pretoria.
A special day of bowling was held on 18th April, 2003 for mentally and physically disabled as well as pupils from the School for the Deaf. |
